Society of the Four Arts on Palm Beach island: the 2026-27 season during renovation

The short answer

The Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach, Florida is renovating its O'Keeffe and Rovensky buildings, and the O'Keeffe Building is closed. This season, concerts move to the Royal Poinciana Chapel or Johnson Hall and films to the Palm Beach Day Academy. The gardens stay free, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., but close on Tuesdays from January to March. Docent tours are not offered.

The Society of the Four Arts is in the middle of a rebuild, and its 2026-27 season has moved to other rooms on the island to work around it. If you went to a concert or a film there before, the room has changed. We read the Four Arts’ renovation page, its renovation FAQs, its concert series and film listings on October 21, 2026. Every count below is ours, made from those dated lists.

The short version, checked October 21, 2026

O’Keeffe Building closed. 17 concert series dates at the Royal Poinciana Chapel or Johnson Hall; 35 film and screening dates at the Palm Beach Day Academy. Gardens free, daily 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Tuesdays January to March. No docent tours.

What is being renovated

The Four Arts says it has begun a renovation of its O’Keeffe and Rovensky buildings, funded by a $250 million Centennial Campaign. The Esther B. O’Keeffe Building is closed for the work. Who designed the original buildings depends on whom you ask: the Four Arts says they are Addison Mizner’s 1928 designs, while the Worth Avenue Association credits Maurice Fatio. We use the Four Arts’ own wording and mark the conflict as not confirmed.

The renovation also closes the stretch of the Lake Trail that crosses the campus, with a signed detour. Our Lake Trail detour article covers that in detail.

Where the programs moved

During the renovation, the Four Arts says the O’Keeffe Speaker series, now on Mondays, and the Lambert Concert Series move to the Royal Poinciana Chapel. Films, the Met Opera screenings included, move to the Palm Beach Day Academy. The Four Arts’ own season notes add Johnson Hall, in the Dixon Education Building at 240 Cocoanut Row, as a second concert room. The Speaker series schedule will be announced in the fall, the Four Arts says, so no dates are published yet.

Concerts: 17 dates

The Lambert Concert Series page lists 17 dates from December 2, 2026 to April 21, 2027: three in December, four in January, four in February, two in March and four in April. One is Carols on the Lawn on Sunday, December 13, outdoors and free. The longest stretch with no concert date is the 23 days between December 13 and January 6. Start times are confirmed for four dates; the rest are not published on the series page, so check each event page.

The dates with a posted venue show the new rooms: a Broadway cabaret in Johnson Hall on Wednesday, December 2, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center at the Royal Poinciana Chapel on Wednesday, December 9, and Metropolitan Opera singers in the Dixon Education Building on Sunday, January 31.

Films and screenings: 35 dates

The film listing runs from November 6, 2026 to April 24, 2027 at the Palm Beach Day Academy: 17 Friday films and 18 Saturday screenings of the Met Opera, National Theatre and Exhibition on Screen, by our count. The listing has a 26-day break between December 12 and January 8. Times are not posted on the series page.

The gardens: free, with a Tuesday rule

The Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden and the Demonstration Garden are open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, with no admission charge: five hours a day. From January through March, the Four Arts says, its lots are for members with a parking pass on Tuesdays and the gardens are closed. In 2027 that is 13 Tuesdays, from January 5 to March 30. Pets other than leashed service dogs, bicycles and skateboards are not allowed in the gardens.

There are no guided visits this season. The Four Arts says it is not offering docent or guided tours; a free self-guided Sculpture Garden walking tour pamphlet waits at the garden entrances. The King Library, at 101 Four Arts Plaza, keeps weekday hours, 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

The High Life exhibition

The Four Arts lists The High Life: Contemporary Photography and the Birds from December 5, 2026 through May 2, 2027, 149 days by our count. Its listing describes work by more than 50 artists. Gallery hours are not posted on the exhibition page.

Parking for a Four Arts evening

The Four Arts has limited free parking on its campus for people attending programs or visiting the libraries or gardens, plus hourly street parking by ParkMobile; overnight parking is not available. The Town lists Four Arts Plaza meters as active from 9 AM to 5 PM. A 7 PM concert starts two hours after those meters stop, by our arithmetic. The Tuesday rule matters here too: from January through March the lots are for members with a parking pass on Tuesdays, but none of the 17 concert dates falls on a Tuesday.

  • The Town says meters on Worth Avenue (zones 46102, 46206, 46306, 46406), the 200 and 300 blocks of South County Road, One Whitehall Way (46605), Four Arts Plaza, the 200 and 300 blocks of Peruvian and the North End streets are active from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. On the Town’s parking map, Four Arts Plaza (zone 46604) has 13 spaces at $5.00 an hour with a two-hour cap. The Four Arts says its own lots close shortly after the last program each day. For the Royal Poinciana Chapel concert in December, the Four Arts lists complimentary valet as the way to park. The parking picker ranks every zone near Four Arts Plaza.
